Designing Policies for Sustainable Territories
We’ve been exploring the ways in which the work we develop through our client projects can inform policies that are more in tune with population’s needs, environmental challenges and local economy contexts; asking ourselves:
How can we have a more active role in the makings of local and national policy?
We believe it all starts in learning more about the mechanisms of policy design. In this one-day workshop, we invite participants to form a fictional city council and create a new roadmap of policies for a city that is facing challenges across multiple public sectors.
Using the UN Sustainable Development Goals as the basis for a collection of scenarios, we go through a series of exercises and frameworks, with the aim of seeing how policy design can be used as a tool to shape sustainable futures; fostering a better understanding of the connections between work ‘in the field’ and the instruments used by government.
